Today during sociology, we were studying the purpose of play. As a hands-on thing, we were supposed to bring in a toy that we used to play with when we were younger, and we were supposed to play with it the entire period.

In great excitement, I dug up my old Game Boy Color and my Pokémon Gold game from my storage box and grabbed two AA batteries. When I got to school this morning and went to sociology class, I discovered something tragic.

MY SAVED GAME WAS NOT THERE.

MY COLLECTION OF LEVEL 100S AND LEGENDARIES HAD VANISHED.

I concluded that the internal battery in the game cartridge ran out, so it wasn’t able to save games anymore. It’s about nine years old anyway, so I guess I shouldn’t be THAT depressed.

The friend that I go to lunch with pwned a building today.

Literally.

In an attempt to leave the parking lot of a fast food restaurant as fast as possible in reverse, he almost hit a truck, swerved out of the way, overswerved, and collided with the building. The wall has a visible dent in it with a good amount of bricks broken. Some bricks fell off, and the door frame is twisted so the door doesn’t close anymore.

I didn’t have my camera to take a picture of the carnage.

Halloween is the most annoying day of the year.

Annoying little tiny kids come up to your door, ring the doorbell so your dog goes berserk, and ask for free food. Then, after you reluctantly give them candy, only half of them thank you, and most of them cut through and trample your poor grass. I swear, next year, I’m going to paint my sidewalk and driveway neon pink so they know to stay off my grass.

My dad somehow convinced me to give out candy this year by using my own logic. He said something along the lines of how Halloween promotes the growth of the American economy, because without Halloween, there wouldn’t be as many candy purchases, thus slowing the economy. Then he said that I should be a part of helping the American economy by participating in Halloween. I must have been extremely sleepy at that time, because I accepted it as valid justification and gave out candy. We started out with a basket full of Tootsie Rolls; my dad was expecting a lot of Trick-or-Treaters today because it was a Saturday. I ended up giving out less than half of what we had.

In the past years, I remember people coming past 9 PM, but the last Trick-or-Treater was at around 7 PM this year. I guess that’s a good thing.

I am now officially a Windows 7 user.

After I combined everything I had into a single website and named it a generic "Parkzer," people started becoming emo because the concept of "Five Minutes in My Head" was gone.

So I brought it back to help you stalk me.

Because I know you love doing that.

Anyway, I haven’t been able to update my website as much as I’ve wanted to because I’ve been busy at work preparing college applications and not sucking at school. I also have an ACT coming up (that’s a standardized exam, for everyone outside of the United States) this Saturday. I should be done with my college applications by then, and once my ACT is over, I’ll have a lot more free time to add more goodies onto my website. Until then, it’ll be pretty dormant on here.

Anyway, my entire house smells like lilacs right now because some random plant that someone gave us a few years ago is sprouting flowers now. (Was that the right verb to use? Do flowers sprout?) They don’t even look attractive, and they’re a dull white color. My dad says the smell of the flower is making him dizzy.

But apparently, if flowers bloom on this type of plant, it’s supposed to be good luck.

So that apparently makes the blood-curdling smell okay.

My mom went to the hair salon today and apparently, the hair stylist that was there also had the same type of plant that we do. Supposedly, their plant is over ten years old, and grew to be taller than my mom, but still doesn’t have any flowers. My parents think that’s a sign that we’ll become prosperous. -_-

I came home from school today and felt as if I needed to play the guitar at that very moment to continue striving on this planet. So I picked up the closest acoustic guitar to where I was sitting and strummed a chord, only to realize that a few days earlier, while I was doing a live webcam show for someone, I had retuned all the strings to a whole step higher than they were supposed to be because I didn’t have a capo. So as I went through and retuned my strings, signs of my true stupidity shone through.

(1) I tried tuning my G string but ended up turning the B string peg, kept turning the wrong peg, and wondered why the pitch wasn’t changing.

(2) Regardless of what peg I was turning, I was turning it the wrong way. Instead of loosening the string to make the pitch lower, I was tightening the string.

The string broke.

I fished through my storage container to get a spare B string and found one. I was too lazy to replace all my strings, so I just pulled out my broken string and put in the new one. Then I had a revolutionary discovery.

When you look at the new B string head-on, it looks just the same as the other strings. But, if you tilt the guitar and shine light on it, THE STRING TURNS GOLD.
