According to a page on Googleâs help area, all pictures that are less than 2048 by 2048 pixels are stored for free. Apparently they had this before Google+ came around too; before Google+, pictures that were less than 800 by 800 pixels were stored for free. Obviously, I didnât notice that because I donât really upload many photos that are less than 800 pixels on the longest edge. Now that I know this is in effect, I will start to upload files in a higher resolution. I generally upload files at 1024 pixels by 576 pixels, and I usually max out at 1600 pixels by 900 pixels at the most, but now thereâs no reason why I shouldnât upload them at 2048 pixels by 1152 pixels.Iâll also try to link my images to their larger versions in case you have a large monitor and want to see the photo better.
