I’m not sure if I mentioned this already or not, but I contacted Dell to get an exchange on my current laptop. If you’ve been following my blog for the past several months, you know that I’ve been struggling with Dell’s customer support to try and get my laptop fixed. Even after the third repair, my laptop had a handful of unresolved problems. Apparently having this many repairs and still having this many problems means my laptop is beyond repair, so I requested a laptop exchange.

Yesterday, a customer support representative from Dell’s exchange department called me and organized the swap. Apparently they’re going to send me a new laptop of the same model but with slightly better specifications through the mail. Once it arrives in four to five days, I would put my current malfunctioning laptop into the box and send it back.

Topic #120: Who annoys you more, Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga?

Neither Justin Bieber nor Lady Gaga annoy me at all, but I can say for sure that Justin Bieber’s fans annoy me much more than Lady Gaga’s fans, and Justin Bieber’s haters annoy me much more than Lady Gaga’s haters.

Justin Bieber’s fans act as if they’re special just because they like Justin Bieber. They pretend like they have special status, and go crazy in the presence of a young human. What’s particularly annoying is that many girls pretend like they’re going to date or marry Justin Bieber.

Justin Bieber’s haters act as if they’re special just because they hate Justin Bieber. I’m not sure why they feel accomplished putting down a teenager who just happens to be richer and more popular than a majority of other people in the world. What’s particularly annoying is that most haters hate Justin Bieber for unjustified, unsupported, or random reasons that usually have nothing to do with Justin Bieber.

I decided to do martial arts again over this coming summer while I’m on break for university. I had my first training session today, and it was probably the hardest workout I’ve had in years. I can apparently still do proper kicks, but I can’t endure an entire intensive less-than-one-hour training session.

According to Wikipedia, Adam is a common masculine given name. The most well-known Adam is the figure in Abrahamic religions, supposedly the first man created by the God in Judiasm, Christianity, and Islam.

I was informed earlier today that World Turtle Day was two days ago. Do people nowadays really have nothing better to do than make up random holidays observing completely random things?

Does that mean I can make a World Parkzer Day to spread awareness about myself?

Topic #118: Make a prediction about something you think will happen next week.

Next week, I predict that I will eat and sleep.

That short response reminds me of the handful of people who have contacted me regarding my recent responses to the Daily Post topics, and my non-participation in the Daily Shoot assignments.

The primary reason it appears like I’m slacking off on the Daily Post prompts is because I don’t really like them very much. I realize that it’s extremely difficult to make good topics every single day for a full year, but a lot of the topics they provide either require too much personal introspection, which I’m not willing to do in my public blog, or don’t prompt enough creative thinking to write something interesting.

As for the Daily Shoot assignments, I think they’re facing the same problem of running out of good prompts. Most of the assignments they’re releasing now are slight variations or blatant repeats of previous assignments.

This doesn’t mean that I’m going to completely stop doing Daily Post or Daily Shoot, but I’ll be cutting down a lot like I already have, and I’ll either write concise, short responses to Daily Post, or take photographs for Daily Shoot with moderation, and only do assignments I think will yield good results.

Some vicious storms swept through the my area today, and I snapped a few pictures.

This first one is from our business – it suddenly started thunderstorming, then it started hailing. For those of you who don’t know, our business is a laundromat. We had a handful of people waiting inside looking out the window because they didn’t want to take their clothes to the parking lot to their cars and get them all wet again.

After a few hours, we closed down the laundromat for the night, and my mom and I started driving home. In a neighborhood near our laundromat, the streets were flooded.

I’ve heard of getting locked out of a bathroom, but how do you get locked in?

Topic #116: What occupation did you want as a child? Given what you know now as an adult (or more of one than you were), would it have been a good choice for you?

As a child, I wanted to be a doctor. This was probably because my parents always told me that being a doctor was a good job, and most Asians in general want their children to become doctors.

Now that I know what being a doctor involves, I definitely do not want to be a doctor, and I know for sure that it’s not a good choice for me. Not only do I think I would make an incompetent doctor, I also do not like the type of work involved with being a doctor. My interests are completely different than helping sick people all day.

Guess what happened at 6 PM local time in all the areas where disasters were supposed to take place?

Nothing.

What I do find funny is that a handful of people supposedly faked the Rapture and left clothing lying around in the shape of people in open fields as if their bodies had been taken right out of their clothing. I regret not setting up a lawn chair outside my house at 6:01 PM with clothing laid out on it like I was sitting there, then my body was taken up to the heavens.

Topic #115: Change the end of any famous story, true or fiction. Perhaps Darth Vader isn’t Luke’s father. Or maybe Nixon was never elected president. Pick any story, true or fiction, from the real world or a book or movie, and change the last few pages or moments of the story. Think about an ending that has always bothered you or you thought could have been better. Now is your chance to fix it.

I’m going to take the example provided by the prompt and say that Darth Vader is not actually Luke’s father. Instead, Luke’s father is the short green guy.

I actually have no idea if that would make sense or not, because I’ve never read the Star Wars books and I’ve never watched the Star Wars movies. Everyone says that I should, along with watching the Lord of the Rings movies, but I don’t really think it would be worth my time. I’m sure I’ll watch them eventually, but I have a lot of other more urgent things and more interesting movies to watch first.
