Here are the photos from the second and third days of my trip to Chicago.
After waking up, showering, eating breakfast, and playing a few games of League of Legends, we left to take the CTA to Oak Park.
On the train ride there, Ed played some intense Candy Crush.
This is right after arriving at Oak Park and getting off the CTA loading area.
On the way to the movie theater in Oak Park, we came across this house. If you take a look at the gutter, you will see that the owners of this house appear to be collecting leaves in there.
We also came across a plant with very soft, fuzzy leaves.
While Ed was feeling the leaves, cool guy Hao walked ahead of us.
“Why is the top of that church so shiny?” “Because it’s piercing the heavens.”
As we got closer to the movie theater, we decided to get some food before watching the movie. On our way to finding a restaurant, Ed tried to take a photo that looked like he was holding a car. He failed.
To decide what we would eat, Hao found three different leaves, each representing a type of restaurant. Ed and I did a best-of-three rock-paper-scissors match. I won, so I took a blind grab at one leaf hidden inside Hao’s hands.
After we made it into a restaurant, this was the appetizer soup that we got while we were waiting for our food.
And this was my food – spicy Mongolian beef.
After finishing our food, we went to the movie theater to watch
The Great Gatsby. Then, Hao came to an epiphany. He discovered that if you swap the G from “Great” and the G from “Gatsby,” the title of the movie is still
The Great Gatsby.
After a long day, we went back to the CTA loading area and waited for the train back home.
After arriving back in Chicago, Hao and Ed posed for this silly photo.
The next morning, on day 3, we crossed the bridge over the highway again to find a place to eat some lunch.
On our way to the restaurant, we passed Ogilvie, the train station Ed and I used to get to Chicago.
We were originally going to go eat at some sort of market, but it was closed when we got there (because of Memorial Day). I took a picture of the building through the window.
We instead decided to go to Potbelly’s. This is my sandwich coming out of the toaster, and a portion of Ed’s face in the top-left corner.
This was the sandwich I got (after I had taken a few bites out of it).
This was the strawberry milkshake I got.
After eating, we went back to Hao’s apartment to play some more League of Legends. As it got closer to the evening, Ed and I left for the train station to go back to our home town. This was on our way back to Ogilvie, or as Ed calls it, the big O-V.
