(12:43:42 PM) malaespreexq305: what’s a bot?? What I’m Watching A friend named Chris Puenner suggested to me that I watch Digimon: The Movie. Following his recommendation, I watched it yesterday. Digimon: The Movie follows two characters named Tai and Kari from their childhood and explains how their lives suddenly changed one day after being selected as DigiDestined. After illustrating the growth of Tai and Kari and their new connection with the Digital World, the plot enters the main conflict of the movie where a virus is attacking the entire planet’s technology system and the DigiDestined must use their Digimon to enter the internet and stop the virus from consuming all the data. This isn’t as easy as the DigiDestined thought, however, as the virus Digivolves into a more powerful monster and becomes more destructive by the second. I watched Digimon for a short while back in 1999 when it first came out on Fox Kids. I always considered Pokémon to be the better “mon,” but Digimon still had some uniqueness to it, and the fact that the creatures could change back and forth from stage to stage intrigued and appealed to me. Watching this movie about ten years after I stopped watching Digimon regularly brought back memories of the show long ago, and I actually remembered things that happened back then in the television series. Obviously, this is a kids movie, and young children are going to enjoy this more than people who have grown out of watching cartoons. However, if you have ever watched the Digimon television series in the past and have not see this movie, it’s highly recommended as it shows some past history of the characters not covered in the television series. Although it isn’t one of my top-pick movies, the fact that it brought nostalgic feelings of a good chlidhood made it leave a positive impression on me.
