Quote of the Day

“Ah haha ha you’re a SCAREDY COW!”

This was proudly declared by a little girl who came and asked for my assistance while I was on duty at our laundromat earlier today. Apparently, there was a large black bug about the size of a fingernail in one of the aisles and she wanted me to kill it because it was creeping her out. I told her that it wasn’t a problem and that I would be right back; after a few seconds, I returned with a paper towel in my hand. I folded up the paper towel and reached down to get the bug, but something ridiculous happened.

The bug made a rustling popping noise and jumped up about a foot into the air, nearly hitting me in the face. This being completely unexpected, I jumped back in utter terror and amazement, tripping over my own feet and falling down to the ground.

This is when I was called a scaredy cow.

What I’m Watching

Earlier today, I watched Superbad, a comedy movie starring Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

Superbad is about a group of high school seniors that are headed off to college soon, and want some more female-relations experience before they set off. After the main characters Seth and Evan discover that they can get a chance with the girls of their dreams, they are willing to do anything to follow through, including purchasing alcohol for a party. However, things don’t go as planned when their good friend Fogell screws up his fake identification by using the name “McLovin,” and then gets involved with the police in the liquor store. Refusing to let this opportunity to slip by, Seth and Evan take matters into their own hands, and end up getting into a bit more trouble than expected.

I thought this was a hilarious movie that well illustrated the modern-day pressure some people feel of being experienced with sex and alcohol before heading off to college. The way the characters in the movie deal with these problems are unrealistic, but still provide a flowing storyline.
