I spent the entire day at the laundromat again, here are the highlights of my day.

Early in the morning, after I opened everything up and made sure everything was in order, I finally watched The Hangover while eating a little bit of bread for breakfast. A quick summary and my opinions of the movie are below.

Shortly after finishing the movie, and old man came to the office in the back of the laundromat where I was and told me that he had some important information to tell me. He said that he came to the laundromat last week and there was no attendant on duty and no other customers around. He said that he then saw a suspicious individual enter our laundromat and read all of our signs and postings on the walls, then go in front of all our washing machines, checking each one. The old man suspected that this suspicious individual was going to rob the laundromat, so the old man quickly finished up his laundry and left. After hearing his story, I asked him what day and at what time he came last week – he responded that he had come at around 10 AM on Wednesday and stayed for about an hour. I thought back and realized that I was at the laundromat from 8 AM to 6 PM last Wednesday, so I told him that I was on duty and there were no suspicious individuals that entered the laundromat at that time that I remembered. I thanked him for the information anyway and came back to the office to check the surveillance camera recordings.

I scrolled back to Wednesday, July 21, 2010, 10:00 AM and started watching. I noticed that I was in fact on duty – I saw in the recording that I was in the office at that time doing something on my laptop and watching the live footage of the surveillance cameras. The old man was already in the laundromat and was putting his clothes in the washing machines. I fast forwarded a little bit, and at around 10:48 AM, I saw myself get up and leave the office to do a round, which is basically checking to make sure everything in the laundromat is fine and nothing needs immediate attention. Seconds after I left the office, the old man started walking toward the office. I walked away from the office through one aisle and the old man was coming toward the office through the other aisle, so we didn’t see each other face to face. When the old man reached the office and looked in, he saw that it was vacant and turned around to go back. That’s when he saw me doing my round.

At this time, I saw myself looking in all the dryers (which are embedded in the walls) and in all the washers (which are in clusters in the center of the laundromat) to make sure there were no clothes left behind and no new severe damage to the machines. In the recording, I also saw the old man staring at me doing my round, checking all the machines. When I was done and headed back toward the office, the old man took the other aisle and went back to his folding table. Within a few minutes, he was out of the laundromat.

Yes, if you can tell by my story, the old man did in fact confuse me for a suspicious individual that was trying to rob the laundromat.

An hour or two later, I watched the Judge Pirro show. The first court case I missed because I didn’t watch the show from the beginning. The second court case involved a woman that was being sued for not paying a telephone bill. Instead of directly addressing the case, the defendant continued to irrelevantly bring her baby into the argument, who was three weeks old and died while their family was hiking, and kept using it and the trauma after the event as an excuse for not remembering what happened with the phone bill. The third court case involved a homosexual couple who came to court dressed in the same outfit suing a woman who got into a car accident because she was watching porn on her cell phone while driving. The interesting thing about this woman is that she’s a taxi driver.

After Judge Pirro was over, Divorce Court was on. The court case itself wasn’t that interesting or funny; it was about a man who was accused of cheating, but claims that he did not. He ended up taking a polygraph exam and proved that he did not cheat throughout the entire duration of his marriage. However, the funny part was a small thing I noticed in the background when the camera angles changed, and I managed to get a picture of it.

Yes, you are seeing that correctly. In the dead center of that picture is a CLOWN sitting in Divorce Court, listening to and watching the case unfold. He even came in full uniform with the white face paint, red puffy curly hair, a clown suit, and a bow tie. I don’t even know how he convinced the court that he was wearing his “formal” clothes.

Then, for I think the first time in my life, I watched a second movie, to make it two movies watched in one day. More on the second movie tomorrow.

After that, nothing significantly exciting happened. I cleaned a little bit and went home when it was time to close. My life is boring. The end.

What I’m Watching

Last summer, when this movie came out, I was told that it was one of the funniest movies ever released, and that I particularly would enjoy it. Although I ended up not watching this movie last summer, I got a chance to watch it this morning. The movie I’m talking about is The Hangover.

The main plot of the movie is the story of four men spending some time at Las Vegas before attending a wedding. The only problem is, one of the four men is the person that’s getting married at said wedding. They expect everything to go just fine, have a little fun, and get back on time for the wedding, but things don’t work out as planned. After mistaking roofies for ecstasy, the four men black out and have to find out what exactly happened – and where their soon-to-be-husband friend has disappeared to.

Just as everyone said, this movie was funny. The idea of going to Las Vegas a few days before a wedding is funny in itself, but becomes much more interesting as the unexpected twists and turns both help and hurt the three men in their search for their friend.
