Dell Customer Support Fail, Part VI

A few days ago, I (finally) got a phone call from the Dell repair technician, and we scheduled an appointment for today at 5 PM.

Today, I had class until 2:15 PM, then had two meetings that went on until about 4:30 PM. After I got back to my apartment, I checked my cell phone and noticed that I had a few missed calls and voice messages.

It was the technician.

Apparently he thought he was supposed to be here at 4 PM instead of 5 PM. He said he waited for 20 minutes, then asked for my call back so we could reschedule the appointment.

So close, yet so far.

Dell Support Chat Fail, Part V

“Hello, I am calling to make sure that your Dell technician dispatch has been taken care of to your satisfaction.”

“… The Dell repair technician has not even called me yet to set up an appointment.”

“…”

“…”

“Please hold.”

Apparently, after my huge issue twelve days ago with the chat support representative, they want to make sure that everything is fine so they don’t have to exchange my laptop for a different one. Obviously, their “customer care” phone call epic failed after they realized that the technician hadn’t even called to set up an appointment with me, let alone even tried to fix my laptop again.

So now I have to wait even more as Dell contacts the repair site near Madison again so a technician actually comes and fixes my laptop.

In case you were wondering, I’ve been having an issue with my laptop’s screen for about three months, and I’ve been unable to use the screen on my laptop at all for over two months straight. I’m being pessimistic and assuming that they’re never going to fix it for me, so when they do come and fix it eventually (maybe in a few more months), it’ll be miraculous.

Another short post today – only a photo. I have a lot of catching up to do on my academics, and I tend to become less focused when the weekend comes around, so I’m gonna get a head start today.

I’m a bit tired from a super secret project (that isn’t really super secret) that I did today. It’s for the Badger Herald, but I plan on releasing it here tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, which will be a lot earlier than when it will go live on the Badger Herald’s website. (Exclusive previews are one of the many benefits that you get from reading my blog.)

As a result, today’s blog post is going to be short – just a photo.

I’m going to start including a new section at the bottom of each blog post that keeps track of how many times I did a particular task this year. I have two so far – how many tacos I’ve eaten at Taco Bell, and how many times I’ve done my laundry. If you have any other suggestions for interesting things to keep track of, let me know. The “So Far in 2011…” section was inspired by Kristina Horner.
