Action-Packed Content Coming Soon

Hi humans.

I haven’t really been up to much since my winter break started, so I’m running out of things to blog about. The only things I’ve been doing lately are reprogramming portions of my website, planning out more content for the future, watching YouTube videos, playing competitive Tetris a little bit, and watching our family business.

I do have a few interesting things coming up in the near future, though. This Thursday afternoon, I’ll be headed over to your best friend Ed Lam’s house to make another video for you. He’s such a fan-favorite that I’m thinking about handing over my entire website over to him because you guys like him so much.

… Before you start sending me messages, no, I’m just kidding.

Sometime next week, Ben Chow, Ed Lam, and I will be going to Buffalo Wild Wings again and filming another video like we did last year. I’m not sure if Ben will have any interesting stories like he did last year, like the one about how he got fired from his job because he put pizza and salt in the ice cream section, but I’m sure something intriguing will happen.

Pecan Pie is Difficult to Cut

Hi humans.

Happy Christmas.

I learned something today.

I learned that pecan pie is extremely difficult to cut.

If you just bring a knife down on the pie as if you were cutting a regular pie, all the pecans get pushed away from the knife and you end up with a huge strip in your pie where there are no pecans.

If you try too hard to make sure you cut the pecans at the same time as cutting the pie, you’ll forget to cut the pie, then when you go back to cut the bottom part of the pie, the pecans will have moved to a different location and you’ll end up cutting each pecan more than once, and you’ll end up with diced pecans rather than cut pecans.

Does this sound confusing?

Well it’s as confusing as it sounds.

The Daily Shoot Assignment of the Day

#DS581: Lists guide an eye in a linear way: menus, recipes, etc. As you’re out and about today, find a list and make a photo. (Assigned June 19, 2011.)

I’M DONE

HI HUMANS.

I’M DONE.

I finished my last final exam today.

Unfortunately, this means I no longer have an excuse to slack off on everything else now. I currently have over 200 unanswered emails sitting in my inbox piling up from the last handful of days because I’ve been too busy to answer them.

As of right now, it’s been over seven hours since I got back to my apartment, and I still haven’t gotten started answering emails.

But don’t tell anyone.

And if you happen to be one of the people who are waiting for a response from me…

Hey look, it’s a distraction! I have another mediocre photograph for you!

The Daily Shoot Assignment of the Day

#DS580: Make a close-up photograph of something. Fill the frame with your subject if you can. (Assigned June 18, 2011.)

A close-up of the cables going into my external hard drive.

Last Two Final Exams are Here

Hi humans.

Today was my last off day, and my last two final exams start tomorrow.

The one tomorrow is for psychological statistics and starts at 10:05 AM. The one on the day after tomorrow is for introductory zoology (which is strangely a requirement for being a psychology major) and starts at 2:45 PM.

I think I’m just about done preparing for my psychology exam, and all I plan to do now is sleep for at least 7.5 hours and read over my notebook one last time tomorrow morning before heading out to the exam site.

So, like I’ve been doing really frequently lately, I’m going to leave you with another mediocre photograph and go to sleep.

The Beginning of the Last Week

Hi humans.

Today is the start of the last week of this semester. I still have today, tomorrow, and Tuesday off, then I have a final exam on Wednesday and a final exam on Thursday. At 4:45 PM on Thursday, I’ll be completely done, and I’ll be back home by this Friday.

The two exams I have left are probably my two hardest exams, so I’m going to leave you with another mediocre picture and get back to work.

The Daily Shoot Assignment of the Day

#DS578: The color of the day is orange. Make a photograph that is full of orange today. (Assigned June 16, 2011.)

Spanish Dictionary

An orange Spanish-to-English dictionary.

Last Day of Classes

Hi humans.

I am officially done with classes for this semester.

I took my sociological enterprise exam today, which I believe was a moderate success because a majority of it was short answer essays, and I generally do better on essays than I do on multiple choice.

I still have to finish my paper for my classical sociological theory course that is due tomorrow, so I still don’t have much time to write longer blog posts. So, like yesterday, I will leave you with another mediocre photograph and get back to work.

Second-To-Last Day of Classes

Hi humans.

Tomorrow is my last day of classes for this semester. I had my last zoology lecture today, and tomorrow will be my last psychology lab and lecture. I also have my sociological enterprise final exam tomorrow and my sociological theory paper due on Friday, then I have a break until next Wednesday, when I have my second-to-last final exam.

So, seeing as I’m so busy, I’m going to leave you with this terrible picture and get back to my work.

The Daily Shoot Assignment of the Day

#DS576: Make a photograph from a high point of view. Get on top of a building, use a ladder, or just look down at a small object. (Assigned June 14, 2011.)

Looking down at my carpet.

Facebook Comment turned Epic Novel

Hi humans.

During my sociological enterprise lecture today, I think I sat next to a girl who might have set the world record for spending the most time writing a single Facebook message.

She started writing it at 12:59 PM, one minute before lecture started. She continued on until 1:22 PM when she finally hit Enter and posted the novel-like comment.

It was very distracting.

The Daily Shoot Assignment of the Day

#DS573: Make a photograph emphasizing a square or a grid today. (Assigned June 11, 2011.)

Keyboard Numpad

It always amazes me to see how well my camera can pick up on the dust particles covering all of my belongings.

Parallel Lines

Hi humans.

The Daily Shoot Assignment of the Day

#DS572: Parallel lines draw the eye. Make a photograph with parallel lines today. (Assigned June 10, 2011.)

These are some random bars that have been attached to the wall space above my desk since I moved in to my apartment unit. I’m not really sure what they do, but they’re parallel, and I don’t feel like finding something else that’s parallel, so this will have to do.

Short Sentences & Smooth Surfaces

Hi humans.

I registered for classes yesterday for this coming semester.

I got paid to play a video game earlier today.

I like writing short sentences.

I need to go finish writing my papers.

The Daily Shoot Assignment of the Day

#DS571: Make a photograph of something smooth. (Assigned June 9, 2011.)

Although it appears quite grainy, my desk is actually quite smooth.
